Tunneling
NDC has extensive experience in planning, design and supervision of tunneling excavation and support. NDC, as member of consortium, has recently successfully completed construction supervision of about 69 km long underground tunneling system for Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project (NJHEP). The project is an engineering marvel due to its unique features including crossing of Headrace Twin Tunnel under the Jhelum River termed as Jhelum River Crossing (JRC). Headrace & Tailrace tunnel system diverts Neelum River Water to the lower limb of Jhelum River through a 32.1 km long single and twin tunnels featuring excavation through Drill and Blast (D&B) and use of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
